Jeremy

I am the Director of Technology for Kantar Marketplace, part of the Insights Technology division and leadership team, but my focus is the Kantar Marketplace platform. I’m responsible for a team of around 90 software engineers, testers, DevOps specialists, DBAs, architects, business analysts, and various leadership roles.

A good project we’ve been involved in recently was to migrate the entire Marketplace platform out of our own data centres and into the public cloud (Microsoft Azure). The results have been great, with excellent visibility of application behaviour in all our environments, easy configurability if/when we need to change and improve anything, automatic scaling to cope with volume fluctuations, and full visibility of our run costs. I’ve also introduced a number of changes to our Agile development practices, which have been adopted by teams other than my own. It’s incredibly rewarding every time this happens.

The best part of my role is seeing and sharing great feedback when the teams have delighted our customers.

I was attracted to Kantar as an employer for a number of factors, a few being; The compelling products and services with great growth potential but at a relatively early stage of maturity, the ownership by Bain, and the significant investment they bring (I’ve worked with Bain before), and especially, the really warm and welcoming leadership team that I met during the interview process. Kantar has a very supportive culture and I’ve regularly been impressed with the behaviours and knowledge of those I’ve met.
